This indeed is true for some extent, Chrome is best one on web. But what most of us don’t know that it is based on the popular open-Source browser Chromium. Chromium browser is well known for its Speed and Stability. Since it’s an open source there are many other browsers available on web which are based on chromium, and are much more stable, faster and eliminate privacy violating functionality.

1> Iron:

Iron is a free and open-source web browser based on Chromium. This browser primarily aims to eliminate usage tracking and other privacy violating functionality. It implements latest version of Web-Kit rendering engine and also includes a built-in ad Blocker. Iron is free to download and is available for Windows, mac and Linux Operating Systems.


2> Chrome Plus:

Chrome Plus is similar to Google Chrome, which is also build on Chromium browser. It includes all the features of Chrome and some additional options like Mouse gesture, Super drag, IE tab etc are also available. This browser is made by a group of developers at Maple studio.

3> Comodo Dragon:

Comodo Dragon is the browser based on Chromium technology. Comodo, the popular software company has developed this fast web browser. It got all features similar to Google Chrome, it also includes improved privacy and greater stability than Chromium. This is the most recent browser and is free to download, it also supports Windows7.

4> Maxthon:

While all three browsers mentioned are based on chromium platform. Maxthon is based on Internet Explorer’s platform. It claims to grab web pages 2 times faster than google chrome.

5> RockMelt:

This list would never be complete if i didn’t mention Rockmelt. If you are a Facebook/Twitter addict, chances are you know about rockmelt already. Even Facebook seems to be showing special interest in this browser.
