NTT Docomo unveils Transparent Touchscreen Mobile
In case you’re thinking that a smartphone with a transparent touchscreen is nothing more than a wild dream, you might just be caught on the wrong foot!
NTT DoCoMo, the most prominent mobile operator in Japan, and Fujitsu, the world’s third-largest IT services provider, have joined hands to work on the first ever smartphone with a double-sided transparent touchscreen display.
The 2 companies displayed the first prototype at the Expo Comm Wireless Japan International Exhibition and Conference. While the prototype clearly needs some serious work and research, it definitely takes our imagination to a whole new level.
Some of the features of this prototype are:-
1> Double sided transparent touchscreen.
2> OLED display.
3> Screen size is 2.4 inches.
4> Modest QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels).
The double-side OLED touchscreen prototype is not only transparent but can accept touch inputs from both sides. For example, one side could be used for dealing with notifications, whereas the other one could be used for interacting with apps. Now this concept has the capability of catapulting multi touch to a whole new level!
